Nestlé Recalls Toll House Cookie Dough
Tainted Nestlé cookie dough has sent at least 65 people to the hospital across 29 states, leading the product's makers to recall about 300,000 cases of Toll House products. Scientists are puzzling over how E. coli 0157, a bacterium that lives in the intestines of cattle, found its way into the damaged dough. Baking the cookie dough isn't enough to prevent the spread of infection, scientists warn, as just handling the dough could move the potentially deadly bacteria around the kitchen. Read all about it here in the Washington Post.
